The people of the First Nation have a sacred belief that a person holding the feather of an eagle must speak only truth. When I was tasked with creating a cover that reflected this profound tradition, it was important that the work be both strong and honest.
The cover for That’s What the Old Ones Say had to faithfully reflect the subject matter — namely the enduring wisdom and integrity that is being lovingly conveyed from one generation to the next. My photography and design both reflect the strength of character of my subject and the dignity that the content required.
